Your Journey to Confidence Starts Here

Have you ever found yourself admiring a beautiful outfit online, only to try it on with disappointment, wondering why it looks nothing like it did on the model? This very thing led me to believe that something was wrong with me or my body. But the truth is, you just haven’t been taught how to dress for your body shape. Once I learned the art of dressing for my shape, everything changed!

Knowing your body type isn’t about size, it’s about understanding your unique proportions and how to style them in a way that feels good (and looks great!). When you wear clothes that flatter your body shape and bring out your best features, you instantly feel more confident and comfortable. And honestly? It also saves you money. No more buying clothes that sit in your closet because they don’t make you feel amazing.

How to Take Your Body Measurements

To find your body shape, all you need are three simple measurements: bust, waist, and hips. You can use a soft measuring tape or a string and ruler combo. Just make sure to stand naturally and don’t pull too tight.

Bust

Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust, usually across the nipples and around your back. Keep it straight and snug, but not tight.

Waist

Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, typically just above your belly button and below your ribcage. You can also bend sideways to find the sweet spot. Don’t suck in!

Hips

Put your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and bum.

Important Notice

No matter what your body shape or size, these style tips are just that: tips. They’re here to help you feel more comfortable, and confident in your body.

If it makes you feel powerful, joyful, or like the main character, then that’s the only rule that matters. The aim of the game is feeling confident in what you wear!

Hourglass

Your shape doesn’t need “fixing”  just framing. Let your waistline shine.

Defining feature: Your bust and hips are balanced, with a waist that gently curves in. This shape is often called “classic” or “curvy,” and it shines when you highlight that natural waistline.

Style Tips

• Wrap dresses and wrap tops they hug your waist perfectly

• High-waisted pants or skirts with tucked-in tops

• Belted coats or blazers to define your shape

• Avoid: Boxy or shapeless cuts that hide your waist

• Fabrics with a bit of stretch are your best friend!

Fun fact: I have an hourglass shape!

Pear

With your lovely lower curves, a little balance up top makes your whole outfit pop.

Defining feature: Narrower upper body with fuller hips, thighs, or bottom. Balance is the magic word here. The key is to bring attention to your top half and elongate your lower half.

Style Tips

• Bright or patterned tops, off-the-shoulder styles, or puff sleeves

• A-line skirts and wide-leg pants that flow from the hips

• Structured blazers that hit at the waist or slightly above

• Statement earrings and necklaces can draw the eye upward

Banana

Your shape is like a canvas — you get to add the curves and flair you want, your way.

Defining feature: You have a naturally balanced shape, your bust, waist, and hips are fairly aligned, giving you a beautiful, even silhouette.

Style Tips

• Peplum tops or dresses that add curve at the waist

• High-rise bottoms to fake a cinch

• Belts, ruching, and layers to add texture and dimension

• Tiered skirts, puff sleeves, or ruffled details

• Avoid: Baggy styles that hide your natural lines

Apple

You don’t need to hide, just shift the focus. Your legs and neckline are showstoppers.

Defining feature: More volume around the tummy with slimmer arms, legs, and hips. Dressing as an apple is about drawing attention upward and softening the waist without clinging.

Style Tips

• Empire waistlines and flowy dresses

• V-neck tops or scoop necks to elongate your upper body

• Leggings or skinny jeans to show off your great legs

• Longline cardigans, jackets, or vests for vertical lines

Avoid: Clingy fabrics or belts directly at the waist

Strawberry

You carry power beautifully, floaty fabrics and curves bring the perfect contrast.

Defining feature: Broad shoulders or bust with narrower hips. You’re likely athletic, strong, and statuesque, and balance is all about softening your upper body and adding visual volume to your bottom half.

Style Tips

• Scoop and V-necklines to draw the eye inward

• Skirts with flare or volume (think pleats, tiers, or ruffles)

• Flowy trousers or cargo-style pants

Avoid: Shoulder pads or boat necks that widen the top
